Round 2 : Ready to Flex?

It’s round two of the playoffs. Double D’s flyin’ tigers  won the play-in match-up over the Capitol Stars (135-122). The Stars go home with a lotta could haves and should haves.  The Tigers post their highest point total of the season, with all 8 starters scoring in double figures. Guess what Dave? RU ready to flex? You have to do it again in round 2.

Randos Razors (9-4) vs Double D’s Flyn’ Tigers (7-6)
You might think the regular season champ has the edge in this 1, but the Razors slumped at the worst time (lost last 2). While the Tigers are peaking at the right time (won last 4). Line: Razors –6

OB’s Method (8-5) vs The Soul Sonic Force (8-5)
Somebody wake up OB an tell ’em to check his line-up. This week couunts. I’m guessing the Force has been checking their line-up everyday for the past 2 weeks. This could be a blow-out win for the SSF, now that the Method’s QB Aaron Rodgers is out. Was that VooDoo magic that gave Rodgers a concussion?  Maybe … But OB has managed to keep 1 step ahead of the Force all season.  Line: Force  -20.

8.12.10

Who @%!#% Cow Batman that season ended with a thud!

Wow, how far has the mighty fallen in 13 weeks. Rando’s Razors clinches a Playoff berth in Week #10 and proceeded to drop 3 match-up in a row. The Razors have scored only 66 points per match-up in the last two weeks after the loss of Frank Gore. Still 9-4 was good enuff for the #1 seed in the Playoffs.

OB stumbled and bumbled his was to the 2nd seed. He was tied with the SSF (both 8-5). The Force was one of the hottest teams down the stretch (W3). OB got the second slot based on a mere 27 points scored. Both teams won the week #13 match-up and scored 118. Both teams have a Round 1 BYE.

Pamela’s Stars won the mediocre prize of a 1st Round match-up with Double D. The Stars won 3 of the last 4 match-ups. But the last win, 105-84 over the Terps tipped the scales in her favor. The Stars finished 7-6 and the Terps finished 6-7 and out of the play-off. So another champ for the previous season fails to make the post-season.

Double D’s Flyin’ Tigers are talkin’ smack after another end of season comeback. Yeah, we know you won the last 3. But you were no better than the Stars. That 89-50 win over the Pitbulls could have gone either way. But you finished 7-6 and the Bulls were 6-7. Pamela scored more points last week. Win round 1 and we’ll talk.

The Slot won 4 of the last 5, but it was too little too late. The 5-8 was amazing after the unlucky start. Trust me, nobody wanted to the the Slot and Michael Vick in the play-offs.

Good luck in the post season to the top 5.

25.11.10

The Slot rides Vick to Victory

Micheal Vick's MNF performance will be the stuff of Fantasy football legend for years to come; 300+ passing yards, 4 passings TDs, 80 yards rushing and 2 rushing TDs for a total of 58 points! The Slot has added and dropped Vicks several times, but it has finally paid off. The 170 points is the highest total score this season (perhaps ever). Too bad the Slot couldn't have spread that over a few weeks. The match-up with V Dub has already over by the time Vick took the field.
Open (in the) Slot 170 - V Dub 77.

OB's Method (7-3) 59
Double D's Flyin' Tigers (4-6) 41

This was a pathetic match-up, both teams started 2 players on a BYE. OB has no right to be leading his division with the second best record in the league. The win was just plane dumb luck. We're gonna revoke his man card.

The Razor's (8-2) separate from the pack with a 188-85 win over the Pitbulls. Rando has won 5 straight. The Terps and Stars also won, but half the league is 5-5.

What a crazy year!

20.11.10

Power Rankings Week #10

1. Randos Razors (7-2)
2. OB's Method (6-3)
3. Romo's Raiders (5-4)
4. Soul Sonic Force (5-4)
5. Brooklyn Pitbulls (5-4)

6. Jonesville Terrapins (4-5)
7. Double D's Flyin' Tigers (4-5)
8. Capitol Stars (4-5)
9. V Dub (3-6)
10. Open (in the ) Slot (2-7)

14.11.10

The Force falls to the Rising Razors - log jam in the middle

In week 8 Randos Razors (6-2) edged ahead to the league lead with a convincing win over the Soul Sonic Force (5-3) 127-79. The Razors were lead by 23 points from Arian Foster, but it was a team effort. 7-8 players scored in double digits. The Force lost Kenny Britt (who scored 40+ the week before) to a hamstring injury.

So we have a big log jam of teams chasing the Razors. 3 teams are 5-3 and 3 teams are 4-4. Every game from here on is a critical one.

In the cruel and unusual punishment department, the Slot goes down again by a narrow margin in week 8.
Romo's Raiders (4-4) 110
Open (in the) Slot (1-7) 107

The Slot has lost 4 matchups by 5 points or less. But he rules the waiver wire with the most transactions, and has a tendency to add and drop the same players over and over again.

4.11.10

Is it the Force or a Holloween parlor trick?

Week #7 means we are half way thru this 13 week season. It's time to start thinkin' playoffs. But nothin' seems decided at this point. The Soul Sonic Force keeps coming up with ways to win. Week 7 was no different. The Force beat the Flyin' Tigers (2-5) 131-98. The Tigers were competitive with 98 points, 27 from RB Micheal Turner. But The Force get Forty-One (41), from Kenny Britt? How did they know the Eagles were going to lay down like dogs and get spanked by a backup QB and a 2nd tier WR? Only the Force knows.

Rando's Razors (5-2) 91
Jonesville Terrapins (3-4) 78
Rando keeps pace with SSF with a steady win over the Terps. Nothing spectacular here, Bye backup Thomas Jones was the top scorer (19). The Terps fall below .500.

Brooklyn PitBulls (4-3)68
Capitol Stars (4-3) 98
Pamela gets a big win over the Brooklyn Giants. WR Roddy White paces the Stars with 33 points, but she looses Tony Romo. The Giants are on a BYE this week Mickey. Are you paying attention?

Open (in the) Slot(1-6) 68
OB's Method (OBM) (5-2) 70

OB, this is why you get no respect. You're 5-2 and at the top on the league. But you can only beat a team with only 1 win by 2 point! The Slot has to be the Rodney Dangerfield of Fantasy Football, no respect.

V Dub (3-4) 85
Romo's Raiders(3-4) 104
It's a wonder how Jesse scored 85 point with the Titans D/ST (16) as top scorer. The Roller-coaster Raiders were up this week. The other Manning posted 30. Both these teams need to get hot if they are to make the playoffs.

The Big matchup this week is between the Soul Sonic Force and Randos Raiders (both 5-2). The line is close. Let's see what the Force pulls outta their butt this time.

21.10.10

Dog Day Afternoon

The dogs came out to play on week #5. We're not just talking about the Brooklyn Pitbulls. We're talking about the underdog in every matchup. It was as if they all felt slighted by the week #4 power rankings and took it out on their opponent. The leagues pecking order has changed drastically in one week.

RANDOS RAZORS @ OPEN (IN THE) SLOT
Randos Razors 80
Open (in the) Slot 108
The Slot shock the Razors for their first win on the season. The Razors were the hottest team in the league. But the Slot beat 'em without help from their QB and RBs (combined score of 15). We're not ready to say they can run the table yet. Can Austin(23), Lloyd (27), and Vernon Davis (17) score like that every week.

V DUB @ CAPITOL STARS
V Dub 63
Capitol Stars 116
Wow, Pamela rocks V Dub for the high score of the week. Tony Romo scores 30 points. How 'bout them cowboys?

TROOPER OB'S METHOD @ SOUL SONIC FORCE
Trooper OB's Method 59
Soul Sonic Force 88
The Force outlasts OB to become the league leader at 4-1. But you have to scratch your head when you look at how they did it. McNabb's 19 was the highest contributor. This may have been more about the pedestrian effort by OB. His leading contributor was QA Aaron Rodgers (18). Is this some kind of elfen magic?

ROMO'S RAIDERS @ JONESVILLE TERRAPINS
Romo's Raiders 53
Jonesville Terrapins 64
It's hard to figure out the Raiders. They are up and down like an elevator. But the Terps will take a win anyway they can. At 2-3 the Terps are back in the mix, but 64 points in a win aint scaring anybody.

DOUBLE D'S FLYIN' TIGERS @ BROOKLYN PITBULLS
Double D's Flyin' Tigers 66
Brooklyn PitBulls 93
The dogs won this with their eyes closed. But they won't win many more without watching their roster. They started 2 players on a BYE week. Which makes the loss by the Tigers even more embarrassing.

Week #6 matchup to watch: V Dub vs. OBs Method, both 3-2 and coming off a loss in week #5.

17.10.10

Week #4 Power Rankings

It's been 4 weeks. We've had some stud games, some dud games and everyone has lost at least once. Time for the league power rankings.
[image]http://static.nfl.com/static/content/public/image/getty/2010/09000d5d81b08151_gallery_600.jpg[/image]
#1 - The OB Method (3-1)
We've seen this before. The fantasy football oracle lead the league for most of the season. At times it looks like he's not paying attention or his girlfriend is making the picks; but he wins anyway. OB was undefeated until last week's 79-134 spanking by the Raiders. Let's wait and see if he rebounds, but for now he's #1.

#2 - Rando's Razors (3-1)
Rando is the hottest team in the league, reeling off 3 straight after a week #1 loss where he didn't start Arian Foster who scored 42 points. Foster is looking like the sleeper of the year.

#3 - Romo's Raiders (2-2)
Romo's a scoring machine. The Raiders' 427 PF leads the league by 63 points. They have the week's top score twice already and knocked of the undefeated method last week.

#4 - V Dub (3-1)
Jesse is winning but not in spectacular fashion. The roster doesn't have pop at any position, and the RB position is on life support. But they are 3-1.

#5 - Soul Sonic Force (3-1)
The Force is doing it with mirrors. The 3 wins is due more to the weakness of their opponent than roster strength. They have played the Terps, the Slot and the Stars. Yeah the beat Romo's Raiders, but they lost to Pamela's Stars.

#6 - Double D's Flyin' Tigers (2-2)
Double D is flynin' low under that Radar again. He's not trying to dominate the league. It's all about makin' the playoffs.

#7 - Brooklyn Pitbulls (2-2)
The dogs are in the hunt once again. But what's up with that roster? Something is wrong if you have Chris Johnson and you feel obligated to carry 5 RBs. Too many players at RB is like no good players at RB, you never know which one the start. Exhibit A, last week's 55-88 loss to V Dub, They start Johnson (4) & Justin Forsett (7) and have Jacobs (12), Mendenhall (19) and Micheal Bush (11) on the bench. And whazz up with all those Giants' wide receivers?

#8 - Capital Stars (1-3)
One win over the Force aint getting it done girlfriend. But the highest PA (399) doesn't help.

#9 - Jonesville Terripns (1-3)
The Terps look like they are going from worst to first to worst again in 3 seasons.

#10 -Open (in the ) Slot (0-4)
JD should change the team name to the Bad News Bears. It's nothin' but bad news every week. QB Kolb is knocked out in week 1. He adds then drops then adds Micheal Vick who gets knocked out last week. A 2 point loss is week 2. A 1 point loss was week (55-56 to SSF). This brother can't get a break.

22.9.10

Asleep at he Whell in Week #1

I know the feeling. You weren't quite ready for the fantasy football season yet,
didn't really look at your line up, or not quite sure who the contenters and pretenders are.
Well it shows from the tepid scores posted in week #1.

ROMO'S RAIDERS @ CAPITOL STARS
Romo's Raiders 128
Capitol Stars 72

Romo's Raiders were on point with this week's high score (128). Peyton Manning went off for 37, Matt Forte for 31 point off 2 recieving TD's. Romo thinks he has the answer to the Peyton Manning curse this year. He has drafted Manning's little brother Eli for the FF post season when Peyton stops playing.

Pamela changed her team name again this year, but the result was the same ... a loss.

DOUBLE D'S FLYIN' TIGERS @ V DUB
Double D's Flyin' Tigers 60
V Dub 71

Double D goes down in a close matchup this week. He could have won if he played Vince Young over Joe Flacco. Hey Dave ... Flacco was playing the Jets D. Young was playing Oakland. What were you thinking? Nice logo V Dub.

JONESVILLE TERRAPINS @ SOUL SONIC FORCE
Jonesville Terrapins 49
Soul Sonic Force 75

Looks like a superbowl hangover for the league champion Terps. But who knew Jay Cutler (25) would outscore Drew Brees (15). The Force rode Tom Brady (25) to a win in week #1. But what's up wit dat logo? Oh I get it ... Voodoo priest casting a spell ... the FORCE. You better cast a new spell. You won't play the Terps every week.

BROOKLYN PITBULLS @ OPEN (IN THE) SLOT
Brooklyn PitBulls 75
Open (in the) Slot 58

Are the Bulls back or is the Slot doing the yo-yo thing again this year? The Slot had the high score 4 times last year, but missed the playoffs. Starting Kevin Kolb at QB didn't help! Ouch! Backup QA Matt Staford is out too! Ouch ... Ouch! the Slot will be entertaining QB trade offers this week.

RANDO'S RAZORS @ OB'S METHOD
Rando's Raiders 67
OB's Method 79

Rando gets the "What the Hell were you Thinkin'" award this week. Posting a 13 point loss to OB. What's that? You started rookie CJ Spiller (0) over fantasy football sleeper sensation Adrain Foster (42). What the Hell ...

Losers will be lookin for redemption in Week #2. Each week #1 loser will be playing a week #1 winner. We could all be 1-1 next week.
