The Force whips the dog to lead the Fab 5

Its week 3, three teams remain undefeated while three others remain winless. So separating the wheat from the chaff has become a wee but clear. If you’re sittin’ at 3-0 you might be legit. If you have sunk’n to 0-3 your team just might sux!

A quick scan of the standings shows that the FAB 5 division has the better won/loss records. But the BIG 5, boasting 3 out of the top 4 total point leaders, may be the better division. Here is the week 3 recap.

Fab Five Matchups
The PITBULLS (2-1) drops 1st gbame to The Soul SONIC FORCE (3-0) 87-96 | The Force win the game of the week match-up to take the lead of the Fab 5 division. Randy Moss (24) posted another great week and they didn’t miss the 3 TDs Ronnie Brown (41) scored against the Jets. The Force didn’t start Brown because he is a Jets fan. Go figure week #3 could be Brown’s best outing of the year.

The RAIDERS (1-2) bow down to the KOYOTES (2-1) 59-95 | The Koyotes roll to their 2nd straight win. LT (15) rebounded from last weeks trashing in New England. But he has yet to have break-out game the Koyotes’ are waiting for. The slumping Raiders are suffering form the St. Louis blues. QB Marc Bulger scored -2 points.

Intra-Division Match-up
THE FLYIN' TIGERS (3-0) SOAR over the TERRAPINS (0-3) 120-84 | Madd props to Double D. B. West (42) was the difference in this match-up. The Terps were paced by Peyton Manning (16). We’re still waiting to be impressed by the Jonesville boys.

Big Five Matchups

OB'S METHOD (0-3) falls to the OPEN SLOT (3-0) 107-113 | Tough luck for OB. He posts 107 points, but losses the match up and his starting RB Steven Jackson (13). The Slot continues to amaze us from the auto draft position. Starting Marion Barber (24) against the Bears was an astute play.

The RAZORBACKS (0-3) tanks to the HITMEN (1-2) 56-127 | Rando’s 0-3 record is no fluke. The Razorbacks stink. Lucky for them Drew Brees (-1) has a bye next week. The Hitmen busted their 0-2 slump with the week’s high total score. Craig got MONSTER games from McNabb (38), Addai (20), and Anquan Boldin (31).

Week #2 Winners and Whiners

It's only week #2. Too early to separate the contenders from the pretenders. But if the scoring differentials continue as the have the first two weeks there will be a lotta close match-ups. Last year's champion was only 8-5 in the regular season. So all those teams at 0-2 can cheer up. It's not over yet.

Week two match-ups were dominated by the scoring in a few high scoring shootouts. Anybody with a piece of the Browns 51-41 win over the Bengals where happy. Well maybe Double D would have liked to have started Jamal Lewis in that match-up, but who's to say that Deuce McAllister wasn't the better start after their week #1 performances.

THE SOUL SONIC FORCE OUTLASTS THE RAIDERS  107-100 In the only match-up between unbeaten teams the Force prevails on the strength of Frank Gore (20) and Randy Moss (23). These guys could be scary if Moss continues at this pace (48 point in 2 weeks). Romo's Raiders got everything you could ask for from the Edge (21) and TO (15). Normally you would win most match-ups if you're over the century mark. But this week you needed to score over 100 just to be in the match-up!

THE OPEN SLOT (2-0) SQUEAKS PAST THE RAZORBACKS (0-2) 97-94 The Slot wins by the slimmest of margins based on the results on the Eagles collapse on Monday Nite Football. The Slot lead by 10 going into MNF with WR Jason Avant yet to play. The Razorbacks had the Eagles kicker, David Akers in the game. Normally you would not expect a kicker to have a snow balls chance in hell of outscoring a WR by 11, but this was Philly baby. The kicker scored all of Philly's points (12), but Avant squeaked out 5 points on 55 receiving yards. The new guy is 2-0.

PITBULLS (2-0) @ TERRAPINS (0-2) 103-83 The other new owner has not faired as well. The Terps got manhandled by big Mike's Pitbulls. They are still trying to figure what's wrong with Reggie Bush and the Saints. The Pitbulls had two players in the Browns/Bengals donnybrook, Rudi Johnson (19) and Kellen Winslow.

OB'S METHOD (0-2) @ KOYOTES (1-1) 62-117
As predicted the Koyotes bounced back from a close week #1 loss to win big. They were the biggest benefactor of the Brown/Bengals game. Their 2 players in the game outscored OB's entire team (Palmer had 50 and Houshmandzadeh 18). Throw in the Bears D (21) and the Koyte's are a formidable team. So it begs the question raised during the draft ... when did Maurice Jones-Drew become an all star back anyway?

HITMEN (0-2) @ DDS FLYIN' TIGERS (2-0) 108-129 Double D has made a strong move to the front of the pack. Posting the week's high score without playing Jamal Lewis (28). The Tigers adeptly played the Delhomme (30) to Smith (34) connection. Tough luck for the Hitmen who had the 3rd best score of the week and lost!

Week #3 Game of the week is the 2-0 Pitbulls vs the 2-0 Soul Sonic Force. The early line has the force winning by 12.

Week One Power Rankings

Lets have a little fun with the Power Rankings in week #1. The match-up this week were dominated by two games; either you were a winner or loser in the Colts vs Saints game or you had somebody in the wacky Cowboys vs Giants sunday nite match-up. So here's how I see it.

#1 Brooklyn PitBulls - We'll give you the top spot for now! Posting 133 points and trashing the Razorbacks was impressive. The line on the game was PitBulls +29 (remember that next time you see the line). But you're a little weak at QB. Tony Romo doesn't play the Giants every week.

#2 the Open Slot - Not bad for a team picked on auto pilot. The starters are solid, but wide receiver could be a problem. Laveranues Coles aint puttin' up many points with backup QB Kellen Clemens. Not that Chad Pennington is much of an upgrade.

#3 Killin' Koyotes - Yea, they lost in week #1, but they have LT.

#4 Romo's Raiders - The Raiders left more than 60 points on the bench this week. Somebody should be making them a trade offer.

#5 The Flyin' Tigers - Did you see that epic Monday Nite Football battle between Double D's two QB's Alex Smith & Matt Leinhart? Neither did anyone else.

#6 The Soul Sonic Force - Yo, dude ... Vince Young and Jon Kitna at QB?

#7 Jonesville Terrapins - Rookie. Peyton Manning is cursed. No team with Manning has every won this league!

#8 Philly Hitmen - To be honest the Hitmen are only a decent running back away from respectability. They might be ripe for a trade.

#9 Rando's Razorbacks - Drew Brees can't stink every week ... can he?

#10 Trooper OB's Method - Somebody has to be last.

Sometimes it a pain to be the commissioner

Sometimes its a pain to be the commissioner. Oh sure it looks glamorous at times, but I assure you its hard work. I would like to be like the guy on the Fantasy Football commercial that could offer valet parking for the season. Maybe that would help get team owner on board early. As is the norm, we were scramblin' for owners at the last minute. Only a few people responded to my earlier e-mails. So I just set the draft date on Saturday like we did last year. That's the best day to do a draft since the NFL started the Thursday nite kick-off game. We used to be able to do the draft the week following labor day. Now it has to be labor day week-ends. All those lame pre-season games will be over and teams will have made the cuts by then.

Chet Jets and brownies Sand Bagger are out. So we got two new owners this year and a field of ten. Etim Edim is the spouse of Pamela's cousin and Jim Daly is a friend of Double D's. Welcome rookie owners.

The draft went smooth. The open slot was on auto draft. So thing went quickly. After a few round you could pretty much predict what auto draft would do. I think we did the whole thing in an hour.

So we are ready. Good luck to everyone. Hope I win again this year.
