It's the Posse -vs- the Pitbulls in the Championship Game

Round Two Playoff Results
PITBULLS (8-5) outlast SANDBAGGERS (12-1): 73-67 How's that Manning-Harrison duo wortking for you Brownie? Oh, I see ... knocked off in the money round. But it wasn't the Chargers beating up on the Colts that did in the Sandbaggers. It was the Bears Defense. The Bears held the Baggers TE Alge Crumpler to 1 point while posting 16. Who could have guessed that the Bagger other TE, Chris Cooley, would score 25 against the Cowboys.

MC SQUARED (7-6) goes down to the POSSE (10-3): 94-114 MC's run is over. The Posse won it in the MNF game. MC's last chance, RB Sam-kon Gado, went down in the 1st half with a season ending injury. It was a microcosim of the Packers season. The Raven's Defense scored 27 point to ice the match-up. The Ravens scored a TD on 1 of 4 fumble recoveries! The also had 3 sacks and 3 INTs. Who are the Packers playing next week!

Underdogs Sweep 1st round of the Playoffs!

You might say it was a dog’s day for the 1st round of the playoffs. Both lower seeded teams routed their opponents by 30 points! PITBULLS defeats OB's Method 103-73 and MC SQUARED conquered the Next Level 95-65. LT and the chargers laid an egg against Miami last week, dashing any real chance for the Next Level to win. Let that be a lesson to you fantasy football fans. Getting that BYE in the first round is like GOLD.

Round Two Preview

PITBULLS (8-5) @ SANDBAGGERS (12-1) The ESPN preview says the Bagger win this one by 40. But the rosters could prove otherwise. The Baggers have the Manning and Harrison duo, but the Bulls have Edgerrin James. How Indy scores, run or pass, could affect the outcome. The other question is what will Tony Dungy do if the Colts get a lead; Sit Edge, Sit Manning, or Sit them Both down!

MC SQUARED (7-6) @ POSSE (10-3)
MC's improbable climb to the Championship game continues. The ESPN preview has the Posse favored by only 13. Not a good feeling for the Posse who saw the Panthers tank in the Tampa Bay game last week. This one will come down to which teams' RBs show up in December. Can you say 'Sam-kon can' do it? MC hopes so.

Payout Pool Status

The status of this years fantasy football pool payouts are in the table below. The good news is 'Nobody owes anymore money this season'. The bad news is 'Somebody's not gonna win any money this season'. After crediting everyone for the weekly high score and the highest weekly score, I am the only one that owes money. There's about $290 left in the payout pool for the MVP and the playoff participants. The champion will get most of that. I will try to announce how it breaks down this week. Sorry there's no losers bracket this year. I have been working on the road this entire season. It has been tough  to get things done when you're only home on the week-ends. Games will be scheduled for everyone, but it is only for bragging rights (do you really want to be know as king of the losers?).  The playoff losers this week will play the losers from the 1st round next week for third and fourth place. I know 3rd and 4th is worst than kissing your sister, but it may means a couple of bucks extra to ya.

Thanks for everyone's patient. Lets us know about next year.

Its Playoff Time!

Well the Next Level whiffed in week 13 and the Posse gets the BYE in the 1st round of the playoffs. The Sandbaggers coasted into the playoffs but nobody is giving them much of a shot to win it all. Could it be the overwhelming since that Peyton Manning and the Colts have been so dominating this year that the undefeated team will take the foot off the gas in the heart of the FFL playoffs. The Posse, who's fortune rest with the Carolina Panthers, might be better positioned to run the table. The Panthers are locked into a playoff battle. Resting players and avoiding injuries is the last thing on their minds.

Playoff Preview
PITBULLS (8-5) @ OB'S METHOD (10-3) OB is the favorite here, but there have been rumors in Seattle that Seahawks will begin to rest Shaun Alexander. The Pitbulls need a balanced effort to win this one.

MC SQUARED (7-6) @ NEXT LEVEL (9-4) At least MC has a winning record. The ESPN prognosticators have MC winning this one. But anyone who listens to them aint in the playoffs. Look for LT to play for the Next Level and score, Score, SCORE! Carson Palmer should have a good day against Cleveland. This is a tough one to call.

ESPN Power Rankings: Week 13

The Fantasy Football regular season is winding down and the PLAYOFFS are just around the bend. Let talk about the Power Rankings this week. Remember the rankings are based on Winning percentage, Points scored (For & Against),and just how I frickin see it! This week's top 6 are most likely to be in the playoffs. The rest will be talking about a losers' bracket.

(1) Brown's Sandbaggers 11-1 - up 2 spots
As much as it pains me to say it, it's hard to ignore the baggers record, thier 10 game winning streak, or the power of Peyton! Just beware Brownie ... high praise in this column tends to put the kibosh on streaks!

(2) The Next Level 9-3 - down 1 spot Winners of 4 straight, the Next Level seems to have gotten back on the right track. The week #13 match-up with the Posse is looming large ... the winner gets a playoff bye.

(3) Plankton's Posse 9-3 - down 2 spots The Panthers ... I mean the Posse has stumbled a bit as of late. Thier stock has fallen after going 1-2 in thier last 3 games. I know one loss was a tie, but these guys don't scare me a bit.

(4) OB's Method 9-3 - up 1 spot
Even if the season ends this week, OB has had a great year. He has gotten over the loss of McNabb and the 1 point win over the Killers shows that he's got a bit of luck going.

(5) Brooklyn PitBulls 7-5 - down 1 spot
Da Bulls have had a bit of bad luck going. But I stll think this is a dangerous team. The Edge (204 points) and the Cadillac (80) are a solid RB tandem and its the RBs that get it done down the stretch.

(6) MC Squared 6-6 - up 2 spots
Some late season trades has made MC a rising star. But he has to beat the Koyote Killers to finish the season with a winning record. He already looks like first round cannon fodder in the playoffs. A playoff team with a losing record ... what's up wit dat?

The loser line starts here
(7) DDs Flyin' TIGERS 6-6 - down 1 spot Fraud!

(8) Chet's Jets 4-8-0 - up 2 spots
Chet made some clever moves to mount a late season charge. But he started too late and the schedule gods where not kind. Look at the bright side Chet ... you won't be pickin' last next year.

(9) Romo's Raiders 4-8 - No Change
Last year's champion has had a tuff year. The football gods play no favorites.

(10) Rando's Razorbacks 4-8- down 2 spots After further review ... The Razorbacks stink! Rando is charged with a timeout.

(11) East Norriton Koyote Killers 1-11 - up 1 spot
The killers don't deserve to be last. Thier record does not do them justice. There where a lot of close losses and woes at the QB spot. (Was that kind enuf dear?)

(12) Drew's Mountain Men 2-10-0
Somebody's gotta be the celler dweller. Why not these guys?

Chet's Jets upset the Razorbacks, Killers Win!

The Jet's late season trade paid BIG dividends last week. Newcomers Michael Vick (28) and Brandon Stokley (13) combine for 41 points to help the Jets post the high score for the week (114). The venerable Tiki Barber also chipped in 28 as Chet's team eclipsed their previous total score high by 29 points! They still have a steep hill to climb facing 3 top ranked teams in the last 3 weeks.

The Koyotes Killers win! Let me say that again ... The Killers WIN and get off the snide. Clinton Portis (28) & Brian Westbrook (17) wake from their slumbers to help the Killer post a 39 point win over the Tigers (81-52). Doesn't that make you feel small Double D?

This is the tightest year ever. Everyone has a weakness. The mighty Posse stumble to OB (80-61). Injuries continue to take their toll. OB wasn't even carrying a backup QB. Now he's lost McNabb for a week (maybe more). Who knows what other strange things will happen. Somebody in the Central Division might qualify for the playoffs with a losing record. As Dick Enberg would say ... Oh My!

ESPN Power Rankings : Week Nine

Last weeks game were kinda boring. So let's look at the Power Rankings this week. The Rankings are based on Winning percentage, Points scored (For & Aagainst),
, and just how I frickin see it!

(1) The Next Level 6-3-0 Don't let this record fool ya. This team is 3rd in scoring and 4th in points against. The Atlantic is the toughest division in the league.

(2) Plankton's Posse 8-1-0
You might as well call them the Carolina Panthers. Panther WR Steve Smith (141) is thier highest scorer, but they also have Panthers at RB, K, and QB.
The Posse is 2nd in points scored, but have had the fewest points scored again them (575). 62 fewer points than the next team.

(3) Brown's Sandbaggers 8-1-0
Bite me Rookie! That Peyton Manning pick has never taken anyone in this league all the way. This year won't be any different.

(4) Brooklyn PitBulls 5-4-0
Da Bulls lead the league in scoring (884), but have the 3rd highest points against total (800). RB Edgerrin James (151) is a solid play this year.
You don't wanna play these guys in the post season.

(5) OB's Method 6-3-0
Great year so far OB. Inspite of the Eagles record, McNabb (168) is still a great fantasy play. But you should have beaten the Baggers when you had a chance.

(6) DDs Flyin' TIGERS 5-4-0
Double D has illustrated pure genius to will his team to a winning record. But Eli Manning is a fraud.

(7) Rando's Razorbacks 4-5-0 The 'backs are the worst team in the best division.

(8) MC Squared 4-5-0
MC should be happy to be in the hunt considering he has the highset number of point scored against them (884).

(9) Romo's Raiders 3-6-0
Depleted by injuries the Raiders still have a shot at second place in the division. Boy, that central division stinks.

(10) Chet's Jets 3-6-0 Chet went from the penthouse (last year) to the poor house. But he hasn't given up ... he's still active on the waiver wire and makein' trades.

(11) Drew's Mountain Men 2-7-0
With Priest Holmes on IR, the Mountain Men have 1 player with more that 100 points ... one!

(12) East Norriton Koyote Killers 0-9-0
OOOO and nine. enuf said.

PACIFIC & CENTRAL division appear locked up, ATLANTIC still in doubt

While the Baggers and the Posse appear to be running away with their divisions (both are 7-1). Every team in the Atlantic is at .500 or better. But not much better.
ATLANTIC
NEXT LEVEL (5-3) drop game to PITBULLS (5-3) 80-92 The Next Level has fallen and it appears that can't get up. Losers of two straight, they can't seem to start the right players. A start of Jake Plummer (38)/Kevin Curtis (16) over Collins(25)/Randy Moss(2) would have sealed a win. The Pitbulls win is a bit of a fluke ... 21 points from your kicker aint right. The G men don't play the skins every week.

RAZORBACKS (4-4) even their record over DDS FLYIN' TIGERS (4-4) 92-74 The 'backs get another fine performance from Steven Jackson (25). Double D has stuck with Mark Brunell (0) to long. Both teams still have a shot if the Next Level doesn't get their act together.
PACIFIC
KOYOTE KILLERS (0-8) lose to JETS (3-5) 83-85 The Killer’s suffer the cruelest of ironies in this one. The Jets are trailing in the last minutes of the MNF game, 82-83. The Steelers must score to win. A touchdown by the Killer's QB, Ben Roethlisberger seals it, but the Jet's kicker, Jeff Reed, kicks the field goal on the last play of the game for the win. Don't you hate it when kickers settle a game?

OB'S METHOD (5-3) falls to the SANDBAGGERS (7-1) 76-83
OB misses his big chance to challenge the rookie for the division. Calm down rookie ... the season isn't over yet.
CENTRAL
MC SQUARED (3-5) get smoked by the POSSE (7-1) 72-127 Put Steve Smith back in the line-up and the Posse is back! The Jake Delhome/Steve Smith combo yielded 56 points! Who's playing Minnesota next week?

RAIDERS (3-5) prevail over the MOUNTAIN MEN (2-6) 71-47 Joe was due for a win. Culpepper's loss has Drew reeling. The injuries this year have exacted a terrible toll. Just ask these two teams.

28.10.05

Hobbled Posse fall to the Razorbacks

The last undefeated team, strapped by an injured Torry Holt and Steve Smith on a BYE, fall to the Razorbacks.

POSSE (6-1) fall to the RAZORBACKS (3-4) 56-67 The Razorbacks weak performance was paced by Steve Jackson (22). Inspite of a losing record they are 1 game out of a playoff spot. But with their leading point scorer injured, Marc Bulger, I wouldn't expect much noise.

FLYIN' TIGERS (4-3) triumph over MC SQUARED (3-4) 95-82. Two stars headed in different directions. DD has done a great job with little talent, but any QB playing the against the 49ers is a no brainer (Mark Brunell, 28 pts).

NEXT LEVEL (5-2) spanked by the SANDBAGGERS (6-1) 79-115. The roller coaster ride of the Next Level continues. The big match-up of 5-1 teams never materialized. The Baggers have the longest current win streak (5).

OB'S METHOD (5-2) bitten by the PITBULLS (4-3) 68-97. The Pitbulls have scored the most points so far this season (730). OB's performance each week appears to be totally dependent on McNabb's.

KOYOTE KILLERS (0-7) stumble again against the MOUNTAIN MEN (2-5) 79-82. The Killer lose another close one. Why? They failed to start Ben Roethlisberger (13) over the injured Steve McNair (0).

CHETS JETS (2-5) get second win over RAIDERS (2-5) 79-52. Chet ends a 5 game losing streak over the slumping Raiders, but he has lost RB Ahman Green for the season. Cheer up Chet, you play the 0-7 Killers next week.

MC SQUARED (2-3) @ RAIDERS (2-3)
PA MC Squared, Michael Coulton 89

The Next Level 104
Rando's Razorbacks 88 - The Next Level gets back into the win column with the top total score for the week. 7-8 starters scored in double figures. The Razorbacks have lost 3 straight.

Pacific Division
KOYOTE KILLERS (0-5) @ OB'S METHOD (4-1)
East Norriton Koyote Killers 58
Trooper OB's Method 64 - OB squeeks out another win to stay on pace in the division. What kind of magic does he have in mind with McNabb on a BYE this week.

JETS (1-4) @ SANDBAGGERS (4-1)
Chet's Jets, 38
Brown's Sandbaggers 89 - Don't get excited Rookie the Jets were cream puffs. Its a long season. There's a 2-3 team waiting in the weeds to take you out.

Flying Tigers ride Eli Manning to 1st Win

Atlantic Division

DDS FLYIN' T... (1-3) @ NEXT LEVEL (3-1)
DDs Flyin' Tigers Beat The Next Level 126- 90 : This was a 0-3 -vs- 3-0. A David -vs- Goliath mtach-up. Eli Manning turned out to be the GIANT in the matchup. DD gets off the schnied and hands the Next Level thier 1st loss. The Tigers look like fortune tellers after starting the Eli Manning (4 TDs) to Plaxico Burres (2 TDs 204 REC YDS) connection this week. Now what Dave? Manning has a BYE next week!

RAZORBACKS (2-2) @ PITBULLS (3-1)
Rando's Razorbacks run out of gas against the PitBulls 85-101 : The Razorsback where done in by Brette Farve. The Pitbulls started Farve (37 pts) on MNF against Rando's Carolina Defense . Farve's comeback was the difference in the game.

Central Division
MOUNTAIN MEN (1-3) @ MC SQUARED (1-3)
Drew's Mountain Men fall toMC Squared 71 -78 : MC limps into his 1st win by 7 points, his Defense was his highest scorer (20). Drew is on a three game losing streak.

RAIDERS (2-2) @ POSSE (4-0)
Romo's Raiders can't keep the pace. They fall to Plankton's Posse, 84- 97 : The Posse Rules! They survive a tough match-up to remain the only undefeated team. Thier balanced scoring has them leading the division by 2 games.

Pacific Division

OB'S METHOD (3-1) @ JETS (1-3)
OB's Method smokes Chet's Jets 112-56 : McNabb (32 pts) is a must play for OB. He scores 100+ again. But I have to ask, "No way you expected 23 points from a kicker". Who the heck is Niels Rackers anyway?

SANDBAGGERS (3-1) @ KOYOTE KILLERS (0-4)
Brown's Sandbaggers beat the Koyote Killers 119- 84 :
Brownie cruised to a win with the Manning (4 TDs) to Harrison connection (2 TDs). The Koyotes are the only team without a win.

Unlucky losers in week #3

The were several unlucky losers in week #3 ... 1 team falls from the ranks of the upbeaten .. 2 teams remain undefeated ... Player injuries begin to muddy the waters.

Pennington's injury put the Jets season into a tailspin

But you can't count anyone out this year. A turnover or two could have made the difference in a several match-ups.

OB'S METHOD (2-1) @ HANDS DD'S FLYIN' TIGERS(0-3) ANOTHER LOSS 106-95
Shaun Alexander (38) is looking good for OB. Ya gotta love those players in this last year of thier contract. Double D is the unlucky loser in spite of a brilliant pick up of Eli Manning (27) off the waiver wire. But Manning may be a mirage. He has only thrown 5 TDS and his WRs stink (3 WR have a combined 20 points, Jeremy Schockey has 24) ... you think teams will figure that out soon? A weak running game equates to a poor start for the tigers.

MC SQUARED (0-3) SUBCUMB to the NEXT LEVEL (3-0) 117-122
Tuff luck for MC continues. A heavy dose of LT (44) and Kerry Collins (25) cover up the Next Level's weak running game. You score 100+ you had a good week ... right? Well I guess it wasn't good enuff. Good news MC, you get the 1-2 Mountain Men next week who are struggling on a 2 game losing streak or thier own.

KOYOTE KILLERS (0-3) ARE EDGED OUT BY PITBULLS (2-1) 99-101
The Koyotes weren't lucky enough to get thier first win. The boys from Brooklyn had a balanced performance (6 starters in double digits). But KK could have won had they started Roethlisberger (21) over McNair (18). Didn't we talk about this last week?

SANDBAGGERS (2-1) SNEAK BY MOUNTAIN MEN (1-2) 64-55
Talk 'bout your dumb luck. The rookie wins without Manning (7) or Harrison (5). Drew has to be kicking himself. He starts Trent Green (14) over the slumping Culpepper who lights it up for 33 points. Boy dat suxs.

JETS (1-2) HUMBLED BY THE POSSE (3-0) 42-119
Steve Smith (35 points) was like Denny's ... he was always open. He nearly beat the Jets single handedly. The Jets have the poorest #PF this year (188) and thier record shows it.

RAIDERS (2-1) BEAT RAZORBACKS (2-1) on the road 91-54
The Razorbacks have been a paper tiger so far this season. They suffer thier 1st loss after posting a measeley 64 points a game in 3 games. Romo bounced back after a tuff lost last week

Week#2 brings return to Sanity and the Insane

Sanity returns to the Fantasy Football Universe. Most of the top players shook of the week #1 blues to post the kind of numbers we are accustom to. But the Eagles/49ers game was insane and the Bears/Lions game was a freak of nature!

The Bears had a PR TD, 5 Interceptions (1 INT TD), and 2 sacks in their 36-6 waxing of the Lions. The PitBulls racked up 34 points from the Bears D/ST and steamrolled the Mountain Men 153-75 for their 1st win.

OB, didn’t give up on McNabb after a poor performance and an injury in week#1. He was rewarded with a HUGE 5 TD performance (41 points) from the Eagles QB in a 42-3 flogging of the 49ers. OB coasted to a 142-78 win over MC who falls to 0-2. MC had another poor showing from Jake the Snake Plummer (7), but it wouldn’t have matter anyway. Life won’t get any better for MC. The Next Level is on deck next week. Can you say Ooh and Three?

The Next Level was sweating out the Saints/Giants game Monday. They were on the good side of a 76-75 match-up against Romo’s Raiders. Two more points from Deuce McAllister (8) would have tipped the scale in Romo’s favor. Both teams figure to do well this season.

Chet’s Jets gets off the snide with a 86-70 win or Double D. Could this be the beginning of a Jets comeback? Yea, Right.! DD is still IOW (In Search of a Win).

The Koyote Killers were MIA in their 76-56 loss to the Razobacks. Hey KK, hears a tip. Don’t even think about benching Roethlisberger (22) for McNair again(13)! Hellooo!

In the game of the week, The Rookie takes in on the chin in a 71-61 loss to the Posse. So far, Peyton Manning (2) isn’t putting up the numbers he did last year. Nice #1 draft pick rookie.

14.9.05

Week#1 leaves many Questions and few answers?

Any fantasy gamer will tell you that seasons are not won or lost after one week. With 8 of last years NFL playoff teams losing, nothing seems certain. One thing does look pretty clear is that Romo's Raiders will be a force again this year. The Raiders beat up the Koyotes 101-63 to post the highest score in week #1. The Raiders, lead by Tom Brady (24), had 5 of 8 starters with double digit points!

Last year's cellar dweller, raised it to the Next Level, with a 94-53 win over OB. The Next level was also paced by a QB (Collins 26 pts) in the Thursday nite kick-off game.

OB suffered because of the poor outings by the Eagles & the Seahawks. Look for him to do better next week against MC.

The Rookie managed to sweat out a tough match up with the Pit bulls (89-85). The question is "was he just lucky"?

Double D falls to the Posse by the slim margin of 81-73. Would things have been different had Antonio Gates not been suspended?

The Mountain Men overcame Chets Jets 69-59 despite a 0 point performance from Dante Culpepper. The purple clad field general suffered from this year's rule that penalizes players for interceptions and lost fumbles. Will this plague Drew all year?

Negative points surely had a hand in MC's 61-60 loss to Rando's Razorbacks. However both teams looked like they were on life support.

Romo's Raiders and the Next Level look to be the early favorite this year. Will they continue? Yo! Calm down. It only week #1.

The prime match-up of week #2 is the Posse against the rookie (both 1-0). Can the rookie keep it going?

When is Draft Day?

We are open for suggestions for draft day. 8AM on a Saturday worked better than expected last year. Who's game?

Cheers to last years Champ - Romo's Raiders.
